This Week at Grace!

We had a wonderful Easter at Grace!  Thank you so much to everyone who served and attended that day…whether in the nursery, or teaching one of the two Children’s Church classes, or giving up your seat for a guest and going to the overflow…and too many others to mention!  It was a blessing!  We had over 300 in worship, a baptism, and many decisions were made!

We have been in a desperate need for a new church directory for some time–God has been so gracious in adding so many to our church family!

We are pleased to announce that we are putting together a church directory!  We will be taking the pictures on May 11th and 12th.
The directory will be a pictorial directory PLUS it will have a totally secure app for your phone! Keeping in touch with our church family will be easier than ever!
Each family gets 1 complimentary 8×10, which will also go into the directory.  You do not have to purchase anything!  Your 8×10 and directory will be completely free!

You can sign up at church or you can do it online by clicking here.  Hurry!  We only have about 20 slots left!

This Sunday, April 8th…

IMG_3731.jpg

This Sunday will be his first official Sunday at Grace…please take the time to make Scott, Jenny, (they are getting married this month!) Chloe and Grace welcome!  On April 15th after worship, we will have a fellowship time after the morning service to welcome them! Please be in prayer for Scott and the music ministry at Grace.  We are excited about what God is going to do!

Begin praying NOW for our services this week…pray for each other, our guests, and that we would be found faithful in proclaiming the Gospel and living it out.

Our mission (and the need) has never been more clear: To reach West Tennessee, America, and the world for Jesus Christ!

Now is the time to share Jesus!

This Week at Grace!

God has been so good to us at Grace!  We are so grateful to Him for a church that has life!  Check out what is coming up:

Helicopter Easter Egg Drop!

As I am writing this: We have 5 days until the Helicopter Easter Egg Drop!  Have you invited your friends and family to join us on March 21st at 6 pm for the Egg Drop?  One of the easiest ways that you can help us to get the word out is by going to the Facebook event page (click here) and click on the “going” button…and then sharing it with your friends!

We will have jumpers for the kiddos and food trucks will be here for the convenience of our guests. (A portion of the proceeds from the food trucks will go to Relay for Life!)
This event is for everyone! Help us spread the word!!

You can also RSVP here: http://www.gracepinson.org/easter-egg-drop-2018-registration

We want all of our church family to be here for this event–wear a church shirt and join us!  (If you are a new member and haven’t gotten one yet–see Judy)  If at all possible, try to be here around 5 pm.

Normally, when our church does an Easter Egg Hunt, we ask for donations of eggs and candy to help out.  This year we will be receiving a love offering at the end of our Sunday morning service this week to help with the cost.

Most importantly–PRAY!  While this event will be super-fun for our kiddos and a blessing to our community–the most important thing that we will do is share the Gospel!  Pray for good weather…pray that we will have an awesome time…but definitely pray that God will use this event to help people get saved!

You can check out the video from last year, here:

Saturday, March 17th: Ladies Luncheon // Jacinda & Conrad’s wedding shower // Starts at 12!

Sunday, March 18th: Nick & Alex’s wedding shower //                                                              Starts at 1!  Registered at Southern Chic and Walmart

We are so grateful for all of those who are getting saved and those who are finding their church home right here at Grace!  Please welcome the newest additions to our church family:

Worship Leader Candidate

This past Wed. night during our business meeting, the Music Search Team presented a candidate to serve at Grace as our worship leader!

He will be leading us in worship Sunday morning at Grace.  At the conclusion of our services, we will vote on whether or not to call him as our worship leader here at Grace.  We are very excited about the possibilities and the future of our church as God continues to propel us on our assignment to reach West Tennessee, America, and the World with the Good News of Jesus Christ!

The candidate has led worship in over 200 churches in Tennessee and throughout various other states since 2001.

He has also lead in conferences, revivals, youth events, school assemblies, college campuses, music festivals, and other events.

  • He has over 17 years of experience leading worship.
  • He has been employed by one company for the last 20 years.
  • He has served at only two churches for the last 16 years.

Please be in serious prayer during this time, that God’s will would be done and that His Name would be honored.

Invite your friends and family to join us at Grace this Sunday!  Be a bringer and see what God can do!

Now is the time to share Jesus!

Sunday Feb. 11th Review!

This past Sunday at Grace was one that we will never forget! We started the morning without electricity…but, that didn’t stop us! We had Sunday School and worship by using the light from windows and candles…and then just in time for preaching the lights came back on! We ended Sunday night with our Valentine’s Banquet… (special thanks to those who organized and served to make it so good!) it was a great day with the saints!
Join us this Sunday…who knows what God has in store?

This Week at Grace

Last Week at Grace

This past week we had a God-sized Sunday at Grace!

IMG_0367.JPG

We are super-excited for all of the first-time guests (and returning guest) that God has been sending our way!  We are so grateful for all of those who are making it “official” and joining our church family.  We had 195 in worship this past Sunday!  Pray for opportunities to invite your friends and family so they can be a part of what God is doing right here at Grace!  Who are you inviting this week?

This Week at Grace

This Sunday we will be continuing our sermon series, “Not Like Them” from 1 Peter.  We have been looking at God’s calling upon our lives as God’s people.  Please begin now praying for our worship services as well as our Sunday School classes.  (One of the most effective ways to get someone to start Sunday School is if YOU invite them!)  Ask God to move in a mighty way, right here at Grace…prepare your heart and have great expectations!

This Saturday, Jerry and Sharon Miles will be moving…and they need our help!  They have everything packed up but need help getting it loaded.  If you could help them it would be greatly appreciated.  They will start at 8:30 a.m.  You can find their address in the church directory. (I don’t want to put their address here)  If you don’t have their address and would like to help, email the church.  Please pray for them as they make this transition and that God would greatly bless them.  We will miss them dearly.

Coming Up

Mark your calendars now!!

costume_contest-still-16x9

This is going to be an awesome night for our children and our community as we reach out by providing a safe place for families to come and have a great time of fellowship.  There will be carnival rides, jumpers, games, food, and candy, candy, candy!

But we need your help!

First-pray!  Pray that God will use this for His glory as we reach out to our community!

Second-Bring candy!  We need candy donations…we will have more families and children this year than ever before…please help us by providing candy.  You can bring your candy to church and live it in the storage room to the left of the sanctuary next to the nursery.

Third-Help!  We are going to need everyone to pitch in and help make this event a huge success!  There will be a sign-up sheet in the foyer.

Next Wed. Night is our fellowship meal from 5-6:30.  I was blessed to be able to pay for 11 meals at our last fellowship meal!  Now I want to challenge you to do the same thing…invite someone to join you next week…and pay for their meal!  Wednesdays are special at Grace and it’s a shame for anyone to miss it!

I can’t wait to see what God has planned for us in the days ahead!  Our mission statement: Reaching West Tennessee, America, and the World for Jesus Christ!  It starts here and now!  Pray-witness-invite!

Now is the time to share Jesus!

Pastor Marcus D. Kelley

This Week at Grace

This week in the Bible reading plan that we are doing as a church family, (you can see the plan here) we are reading the Book of Jeremiah.  The Book of Jeremiah is the prophecy of a man that was called by God in his young age.  He has a heartbreaking message and he is a heartbroken prophet.

Jeremiah preaches for more than forty years to the hard-headed people of Judah…the result being that Jeremiah is despised and persecuted.  His response?  Tears of compassion for the people.  His broken heart leads to the broken book: Jeremiah.  Throughout the Book of Jeremiah, he faithfully declares that it is only in surrender to God’s will that the people will escape sure disaster.

Last Week at Grace

We had a wonderful time of worship through song and preaching of the Word this last Sunday!  Thank you to everyone who serves each week to make Grace the best it can be for our guests and members alike.  Each Sunday we have first-time guests–keep up the good work of inviting others to join us at Grace–your hospitality and desire to reach West Tennessee is making a difference!

DSC_0003.JPG DSC_0037.JPG DSC_0031.JPG DSC_0019.JPG DSC_0018.JPG DSC_0011.JPG

We were also blessed to have four new members join the Grace Baptist Family!  Please pray for these families and help make them feel welcome!

This Week at Grace

This Wednesday night in the adult Bible study we will be looking at a passage from next week’s reading in Jeremiah.  The children have already begun, and the youth are starting this Wednesday night at 6:30, a new Bible study series…all of the kiddos should be prepared to get wet!  Bring a towel…it’s going to be fun!

This coming Sunday we will be concluding our sermon series on Samson.  This series has been a blessing to me personally as well as a challenge to all of the men in our church.  I have been getting wonderful feedback about how God has been using these messages… (You can check out the Father’s Day message here) We all have a great deal to learn from the life of Samson!  Remember your “3” this week: pray-witness-invite!

Now is the time to share Jesus!

Pastor Marcus D. Kelley

P.S.

Please remember in your prayers all of those who have recently lost loved ones in our church family: Joe Burton-the passing of his sister.  Ray Plunk and the passing of his mother. Neil Gaugh and the passing of his Aunt.

This Week at Grace

This week our Bible reading plan that we are following as a church family (you can get a copy here) brings us to the book of First Kings.  The first half of First Kings traces the life of Solomon.  It is under his leadership that the nation of Israel rises to its peak of size and glory.  Solomon’s wisdom and accomplishments bring him and Israel worldwide fame.

bibleversebulletin-Kelley-PC-Kelley-PC-Kelley-PC-Kelley-PC-Kelley-PC.jpg

Tragically, we see Solomon’s zeal for God diminish in his later years, as his pagan wives turn his heart away from God.  The result is that “the king with a divided heart will leave behind a divided kingdom.”  For the next century this Book of Kings traces the twin histories of two sets of kings and two nations of unrepentant, disobedient people who move farther and farther away from God.

Last Week at Grace

We had a wonderful Homecoming Sunday at Grace!  A big thank you to Corrina Rose Logston and Jeremy Stephens for the wonderful music and it was great having Adam and Lindsay Wood here with Adam being a blessing through the preaching of God’s Word!  And a special thank you to everyone who brought food and those who served in the kitchen to make our fellowship time so sweet!

You can check out Jeremy and Corrina’s group at:

We also had a precious time of Parent/Child Dedication this past Sunday.  Please be in prayer for these parents as they strive to honor God with their lives and the raising of their children!

DSC_0150

We have had other families that wanted to participate in the parent/child dedication but were not able to be here this past Sunday.  This is something that we want to be able to facilitate…it’s too important to put off!  We are looking at possibly having another dedication service in two weeks.  If you are interested and would like to sign up or if you have any questions, click here.

This Week at Grace

I want to encourage you to make time in your schedule for Wed. night at Grace!  Wednesday nights are special at Grace–but its not the same without you.  We have an excellent Student and Kids ministry here at Grace–but it only helps your children if they are here and if you bring them!  Make it a top priority for your family to take a break from the unrelenting hustle and bustle of the week…and spend an hour Wednesday night with your church family, praying and studying God’s Word.  You won’t regret it!

The youth are having their second movie night–don’t miss it and invite others.

The kiddos are continuing their SWEET series on Wed. night at 6:30…I know the kids have been loving it!

In the adult Bible Study we will be deviating just a little bit from our series and looking at Psalm 73.  I encourage you to read it a few times and join us for Bible Study.  We are a church family…don’t miss the family “reunion” this Wednesday night!

This Sunday at Grace we will be taking some time to commemorate Memorial Day.  Memorial Day was originally called Decoration Day, from the early tradition of decorating graves with flowers, wreaths and flags. Memorial Day is a day for remembrance of those who have died in service to our country. The official holiday was inspired by local observances of the day that had taken place in several towns throughout America in the years after the Civil War.

If you have a relative who lost their life, while on active-duty in our Armed Forces, would you send an email to marcus@marcuskelley.com?  Please let me know their name, branch of service, area of operation and their relation to you.  Thank you so much.

The Bible says:

John 15:13 (NKJV) — 13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.

We are thankful for all of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.  Let’s honor their sacrifice by using the greatest freedom we have in America–the freedom to worship–this Sunday at Grace!

Coming up!

VBS is right around the corner!  Invite, invite, invite!!  If you haven’t registered your kiddos or you would like to volunteer click here! Pre-K through 6th Grade!  Help us let everyone know! Be a bringer!

Please be in serious prayer about this time that we will have with all of the children and families!

This past Sunday we had another God-blessed day!  We had a full church for worship, many first-time guests, three baptisms, great worship and special music, people indicated that they received Christ, and we were able to honor our High School and College graduates!  I want to say a special thank you to all of you that give up your seats or “scoot” over and go out of your way to make all of our guests feel welcome.  It may seem like a small thing but it makes a BIG difference…good job!

After church, I was able to go have lunch with all of the graduates.  These are special young people and I am excited about what God is going to do in their lives.

This week at Grace

Don’t miss this Wednesday night as we continue our Bible Study series through the Bible.  Wednesday night is a great, casual environment to invite your friends and family to church.  The youth and children teams are doing an amazing job on Wednesday nights…we have something for all ages.  Starts at 6:30!  We will have our monthly business meeting at the conclusion of our Bible study.

Mother’s Day is THIS Sunday, May 14. It is always a special opportunity to honor the moms in our lives.  Moms, each of you will leave with a special token of our appreciation this Sunday.  But we will also have a random drawing for one special mom to win a $100 gift card!  ALL moms will be eligible–but you will have to be present to win!  We just want to do something different this year and bless our moms in the most practical way possible and let you know how much we appreciate you.

We will also be recognizing all of the children from Children’s Church who have completed memorizing the Ten Commandments!  Each child will receive a certificate and a “10” dollar gift card to show them how much we appreciate all of their hard work.  We will also show a GREAT video of the children reciting and singing the Commandments…you don’t want to miss it! If you weren’t with us for the whole ten weeks and your kiddos haven’t had a chance to memorize them yet–let us know and we will make sure that you get the simplified version of the Commandments to help you teach your child–when they get them memorized we want to let them know that we appreciate them, too!

We will have an awesome day of worship and the Word–we won’t have worship services Sunday night so make every effort possible to be here Sunday morning!

Don’t forget about your 3…we all have people in our lives that we should be praying for, witnessing to, and inviting to Grace!  Let’s be about the Great Commission and reach West Tennessee…it will only happen one person at a time as we are faithful!  Be a bringer!

Parents! Coming up on Sunday May 21st–(the same day as our Homecoming) we will have our Parent-Child Dedication at Grace.  This dedication is for parents and children of all ages…whether you have a newborn or maybe you have never participated in a child dedication service before–you can participate in this one–as parents dedicate themselves and their children to the Lord.  Please don’t miss it!  You need to register online at the Grace Baptist website…you can click here to register.

This Week at Grace

This week at Grace we have begun reading through the books of Ruth and 1 Samuel.

bibleversebulletin-Kelley-PC-Kelley-PC-Kelley-PC-Kelley-PC.jpg

Ruth is the story of a poor, widowed, Moabite woman who forsakes her pagan heritage in order to hold fast to the people and God of Israel.  “Because of her faithfulness in a time of national faithlessness,” God rewards her by giving her a new husband, a son and the incredible privilege of being the great-grandmother of King David…and thus a direct ancestor of King Jesus!

The First Book of Samuel describes the transition of leadership in Israel from judges to kings.  The characters that are prominent in this book: Samuel, the last judge and first prophet; Saul, the first king of Israel; and David, the king-elect, anointed but not yet recognized as Saul’s successor.

This past Sunday at Grace

We had a wonderful time of worship through music and the Word this past Sunday!

DSC_0211 DSC_0247 DSC_0228  DSC_0255 DSC_0233 DSC_0194

We had great worship and Sunday School attendance (if you aren’t in a class–join one now!  Let me know if you have any questions and we will point you towards the right class) and many guests and visitors.  Please continue to pray for and invite your friends, family and coworkers to join us at Grace.  The children performed special music by singing the “Ten Commandments Song.”  It was a blessing to see our children doing such a good job singing in our worship service…thank you to all of those that lead them!

We also had three saved at Grace this week…and our Grace Family grew by five!  I hope that we will all praise God for His goodness!

Our Bible study will be out of 1 Samuel 16-17

The youth and children are currently in two great Bible studies…Wednesday nights at Grace are awesome!  Make plans to be here and bring someone with you!  Starts at 6:30!

This Sunday we will be recognizing all of our High School and College graduates.  Please keep these young people in your prayers as they enter into the next phase of their lives. Pray that God will use them mightily!  We will also have three baptisms at the beginning of the service…so don’t be late to get a seat!  Alex Plunk will be bringing the special music.

Sunday night we will be continuing our sermon series on “Angels and Demons.”  This week will be looking at what Scripture has to say about demons.  Bro. Joe Burton will be filling in and leading worship Sunday night and Mrs. Susan Patterson has graciously agreed to play piano for the service.  Join us Sunday night at 6 and make sure you let them know how much you appreciate them helping out.

Please begin praying now for our Sunday services…that God will be glorified, the lost saved, and the people of God edified.

One more thing…just for fun:

We made quite a few promotional videos in April…to get the word out about the Easter Egg Drop and our Easter services.  Making videos isn’t always easy!  If you haven’t already seen it–here is the “blooper” video…enjoy!
