Last Week at Grace

This past Sunday was a huge blessing!  We had two baptisms to start the worship service, great worship, and special music, and had a family of five join our church family!  We had 74 in Sunday School and 185 in worship…and we have been blessed to have 7 folks added to our church family the last two weeks.

This Week at Grace

This Wednesday night at 6:30 we are excited to be starting two new Bible Studies for our students and children:

The adults will be continuing our Bible Study series through the entire Bible.

Please take note:  We had a special called business meeting for Sunday night to nominate our Committee on Committee etc…we will be taking care of that this Wed. Night at the end of the service.  Please make time to be with your church family this Wed. night!

We have had a wonderful end to Summer here at Grace!  But, we aren’t ever satisfied (“until everyone hears”) or taking for granted what God is doing among us.  Would you please pray for our church, your pastor, worship leaders, and for everyone serving this coming Sunday?  Prayer makes a difference!  That is why we will be doing a new Sermon Series on Sunday Nights:

announcements

This Sunday, begin now preparing for our services by spending time in prayer and the Word…remember our “3:” Pray, witness, and invite,” and bring someone with you to worship this week!  Be a bringer!

Now is the time to share Jesus!

This Week at Grace

This week at Grace in our daily Bible reading plan we come to the books of First and Second Chronicles.  These books cover the same period of Hebrew history that is covered in Second Samuel through Second Kings, but with a different perspective.  Despite what just a quick glance might trick you into believing, these books are not just a repetition of what you have read previously.  While Second Samuel and First and Second Kings give a political history of Israel and Judah, First and Second Chronicles present a religious history of the reign of David in Judah.  These books are written from a priestly and spiritual perspective.

Last Week at Grace

We had a God-blessed Sunday at Grace!  We had 74 in Sunday School and 185 in our morning worship service.  And we were blessed to have two come forward Sunday morning to be baptized and join our church family.  What a blessing!

Please make Shane and Melanie feel welcome here at Grace…and pray for and encourage them as they get baptized this upcoming Sunday!

I would also like to say thank you to everyone who was able to donate Sunday towards the school supplies for Chester County students…Grace loves our community and it shows!

Sunday night was an interesting service, to say the least: with the storms rolling through we had a great deal of thunder and lightning (and the power blinked a couple of times) which made for great special effects for the sermon!

This Week at Grace

Wednesday night at Grace we are continuing our series through the entire Bible.  We will be in First Chronicles and we will be taking a look at the “prayer of Jabez.”

The Youth and Children are going to have an awesome time this Wed. night!  If you have any questions please contact Clay or Shondra Murley.

This Saturday, Grace Baptist is participating in the “Back-2-School Bash!”  If you would like to help out, please let the church office know.

This Sunday morning at Grace we will be wrapping up our sermon series on marriage.  Please invite everyone you can to be with us this Sunday!  Over 80% of people surveyed say that if they were asked by a friend to go to church with them that they would!  If they aren’t coming, it’s because we aren’t inviting!

God cares deeply about our marriages and it is important that we help couples and families discover what God’s Word says about it.

This Sunday night, at the end of our service, we will have a brief special-called business meeting.  This is simply to nominate our Committee on Committees and the nominating team so that they can begin the work of getting us ready for the next church year!  Please make plans to be with us during this important time.

Also please be in prayer for where God will have you serve during this next exciting year at Grace Baptist!  I can’t wait to see what God has planned!

Let’s all commit to pray, witness and invite those far from God and see what God has planned for Grace this week!

Now is the time to share Jesus!

This Week at Grace

This week at Grace in our Bible reading plan that we are following as a church family, we are going to be reading the books of Daniel and Hosea.

bibleversebulletin-Kelley-PC-Kelley-PC-Kelley-PC-Kelley-PC-Kelley-PC.jpg

Daniel’s life and ministry spanned the entire seventy-year time frame of the Babylonian captivity.  Led into captivity as a teenager and then chosen for government service, Daniel becomes God’s prophet to the Gentile (and Jewish) world declaring God’s present and eternal purposes.  Daniel’s life and prophecy shows God’s guidance, power, and intervention in the life of men.

Hosea (whose name means “Salvation”) ministers to the northern kingdom of Israel.  During Hosea’s time, the kingdom is outwardly enjoying a time of prosperity and growth; but inwardly, moral corruption and spiritual adultery permeate the people.  Hosea repeatedly echoes his threefold message: God abhors the sins of His people; judgment is certain, but God’s loyal love stands firm.

This Summer at Grace

We have had an awesome Summer so far at Grace!  While many churches see a sharp decline in attendance, service and giving during the Summer months…through the goodness and blessings of God we have been strong in all three categories this Summer!  The last two weeks we have averaged 182 in worship and 70 in Sunday School!  I am so grateful to our church family for their faithfulness.

It has been a busy Summer at Grace with a lot of activities for our students and children…from Movie Nights and lake days for the youth…to an awesome VBS for the kiddos back in June:

Sunday morning at Grace we will continue our Sermon Series on marriage.  If you missed the first week you can check it out here:

This is a great time to invite your friends and family to be here with us at Grace!  Please continue to remember your “3.”  Pray–Witness–Invite!  Who can you simply invite to join us at Grace?

We will also be receiving a special offering at the end of our services to support the Chester County “Back-2-School Bash’ on July 29th:school_supply_drive-still-16x9.jpg

If you would be interested in serving at the Bash as we hand out school supplies–please let the church office know!

We are looking forward to another God-blessed week at Grace Baptist Church!

Now is the time to share Jesus!

This Week at Grace

This week in the Bible reading plan that we are doing as a church family, (you can see the plan here) we are reading the Book of Jeremiah.  The Book of Jeremiah is the prophecy of a man that was called by God in his young age.  He has a heartbreaking message and he is a heartbroken prophet.

Jeremiah preaches for more than forty years to the hard-headed people of Judah…the result being that Jeremiah is despised and persecuted.  His response?  Tears of compassion for the people.  His broken heart leads to the broken book: Jeremiah.  Throughout the Book of Jeremiah, he faithfully declares that it is only in surrender to God’s will that the people will escape sure disaster.

Last Week at Grace

We had a wonderful time of worship through song and preaching of the Word this last Sunday!  Thank you to everyone who serves each week to make Grace the best it can be for our guests and members alike.  Each Sunday we have first-time guests–keep up the good work of inviting others to join us at Grace–your hospitality and desire to reach West Tennessee is making a difference!

We were also blessed to have four new members join the Grace Baptist Family!  Please pray for these families and help make them feel welcome!

This Week at Grace

This Wednesday night in the adult Bible study we will be looking at a passage from next week’s reading in Jeremiah.  The children have already begun, and the youth are starting this Wednesday night at 6:30, a new Bible study series…all of the kiddos should be prepared to get wet!  Bring a towel…it’s going to be fun!

This coming Sunday we will be concluding our sermon series on Samson.  This series has been a blessing to me personally as well as a challenge to all of the men in our church.  I have been getting wonderful feedback about how God has been using these messages… (You can check out the Father’s Day message here) We all have a great deal to learn from the life of Samson!  Remember your “3” this week: pray-witness-invite!

Now is the time to share Jesus!

Pastor Marcus D. Kelley

P.S.

Please remember in your prayers all of those who have recently lost loved ones in our church family: Joe Burton-the passing of his sister.  Ray Plunk and the passing of his mother. Neil Gaugh and the passing of his Aunt.
