This Week at Grace!

God has been so good to us at Grace!  We are so grateful to Him for a church that has life!  Check out what is coming up:

Helicopter Easter Egg Drop!

As I am writing this: We have 5 days until the Helicopter Easter Egg Drop!  Have you invited your friends and family to join us on March 21st at 6 pm for the Egg Drop?  One of the easiest ways that you can help us to get the word out is by going to the Facebook event page (click here) and click on the “going” button…and then sharing it with your friends!

We will have jumpers for the kiddos and food trucks will be here for the convenience of our guests. (A portion of the proceeds from the food trucks will go to Relay for Life!)
This event is for everyone! Help us spread the word!!

You can also RSVP here: http://www.gracepinson.org/easter-egg-drop-2018-registration

We want all of our church family to be here for this event–wear a church shirt and join us!  (If you are a new member and haven’t gotten one yet–see Judy)  If at all possible, try to be here around 5 pm.

Normally, when our church does an Easter Egg Hunt, we ask for donations of eggs and candy to help out.  This year we will be receiving a love offering at the end of our Sunday morning service this week to help with the cost.

Most importantly–PRAY!  While this event will be super-fun for our kiddos and a blessing to our community–the most important thing that we will do is share the Gospel!  Pray for good weather…pray that we will have an awesome time…but definitely pray that God will use this event to help people get saved!

You can check out the video from last year, here:

Worship Leader Candidate

This past Wed. night during our business meeting, the Music Search Team presented a candidate to serve at Grace as our worship leader!

He will be leading us in worship Sunday morning at Grace.  At the conclusion of our services, we will vote on whether or not to call him as our worship leader here at Grace.  We are very excited about the possibilities and the future of our church as God continues to propel us on our assignment to reach West Tennessee, America, and the World with the Good News of Jesus Christ!

The candidate has led worship in over 200 churches in Tennessee and throughout various other states since 2001.

He has also lead in conferences, revivals, youth events, school assemblies, college campuses, music festivals, and other events.

  • He has over 17 years of experience leading worship.
  • He has been employed by one company for the last 20 years.
  • He has served at only two churches for the last 16 years.

Please be in serious prayer during this time, that God’s will would be done and that His Name would be honored.

Invite your friends and family to join us at Grace this Sunday!  Be a bringer and see what God can do!

Now is the time to share Jesus!

Bless this Mess Part 1

In your home, what are you hungering for? In your life, in your dorm, with your friends, what are you pursuing? What matters most to you? If we are being honest…We were not hungering and thirsting for righteousness. We all want God to bless our homes and families…but, most of our families aren’t blessed–they are stressed. What does God’s Word have to say to us?

Sunday Feb. 11th Review!

This past Sunday at Grace was one that we will never forget! We started the morning without electricity…but, that didn’t stop us! We had Sunday School and worship by using the light from windows and candles…and then just in time for preaching the lights came back on! We ended Sunday night with our Valentine’s Banquet… (special thanks to those who organized and served to make it so good!) it was a great day with the saints!
Join us this Sunday…who knows what God has in store?

The Big D: Doubt

Let’s be honest about something that so few in “church” life are willing to talk about: Doubt.

IMG_2767.JPG

Have you ever lived in the dark shadows of doubt and felt all alone?

  • Do you one moment have zero doubts about God’s existence and then the next feel incredibly naive?
  • Do you ever wonder if there really is a God? A real Hell and a real Heaven?
  • Do you ever doubt that your prayers really matter at all?
  • Do you ever doubt your own relationship with God…doubt that if He is real that He cares anything about you?

If you can honestly answer yes to any of those questions…congratulations.  You are part of the human race.

Do you realize that even the greatest heroes in the Bible struggled with doubt at different times?

  • David had doubts.
  • Solomon had doubts.
  • Job had doubts.
  • Jeremiah had doubts.
  • John the Baptist even had doubts!

The church has tested positive for the virus called doubt since the very beginning.

Lee_strobel-1024x576.jpgLee Strobel said it like this:

“We could divide Christians into three groups.

The first would consist of those who have doubted.

The second would be those who haven’t doubted yet, but who will.  The third group would be those who are brain-dead.”

I want you to understand something: There is nothing inherently wrong with doubt.

Faith presupposes doubt and by the very nature of what faith is it has to be preceded by doubt.  After all, if there is no room for doubt, there is no place for faith.

However, I want you to understand there is a difference between doubt and unbelief.

Doubt asks questions while unbelief won’t even listen to answers.

The next few weeks we are going to study a man in the Bible who had such a problem with doubt that he is the only disciple that has ever been given a nickname.

You most likely know him as, “Doubting Thomas.”

Though Thomas has gotten somewhat of a bad rap through the years, he does teach us how to deal with doubt – how to handle doubt properly.

He shows us that we can starve our doubt while feeding our faith.

If you are dealing with doubt today, doubt about salvation, doubt about God, about His goodness, about His grace, about His mercy, about His justice, even about His very existence…

Know that it is normal…and know that God will give you the answers if you are truly willing to listen.

Be sure and check out the next post as we take a look at “Doubting Thomas!”
